Tirzepatide (GLP2-Tirz) is a synthetic dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist. It activates two complementary incretin pathways from a single molecule, a step beyond the single-pathway GLP-1 compounds that came before it. It is the most extensively studied dual agonist in the incretin class.
